- How to Make Fettuccine Alfredo Pasta Recipe
Step 1: Boil the Pasta Properly
- A big pot of water should be brought to a rolling boil. The water should taste like the sea after adding a lot of salt.

- As directed on the package, add the fettuccine and cook until al dente. To avoid sticking, stir from time to time.
- Set aside ½ cup of pasta water before draining. Later on, this starchy water aids in adjusting the consistency of the sauce.
- After draining, put the pasta aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Creamy Alfredo Sauce
- Melt the butter completely in a large skillet over medium heat.

- Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Garlic can become bitter if it is browned.
- Add the heavy cream and simmer gently. Cook, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, 3 to 4 minutes.
Step 3: Add the Parmesan Cheese
- Reduce the heat to low.

- Gradually add freshly grated Parmesan cheese while whisking continuously. This prevents clumping and ensures a smooth sauce.
- Stir until the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes creamy and glossy.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water and stir.
Step 4: Combine Pasta and Sauce
- Put the drained fettuccine straight into the Alfredo sauce skillet.

- Gently toss until all strands are completely covered.
- To taste, add salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Top with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese.

- For the best texture, serve hot and creamy right away.
Notes
For the smoothest, creamiest Alfredo sauce, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese. A grainy texture could result from using pre-shredded cheese.
To ensure that the pasta is perfectly cooked when tossed in the sauce, cook it just until it is al dente.
If necessary, the starch helps thin and emulsify the sauce, so always save some pasta water.
After adding the cheese, keep the heat low so the sauce doesn't separate.
Before serving, add a small knob of butter for added richness.
The sauce thickens as it cools, so it's best served hot and creamy right away.
You can make this a full meal by adding vegetables, shrimp, or grilled chicken.
